Gatha Graphics is the brainchild of Renee Vaillancourt McGrath. Trained as a professional librarian, Renee has worked with children, teenagers, adults and people with disabilities in public libraries across the U.S. As a public speaker and workshop presenter she has inspired hundreds of librarians to improve their services to young adults. She has published several professional articles and books and worked as features editor of Public Libraries: the journal of the Public Library Association and as a consulting editor with ALA Editions. She is currently the director of the North Valley Public Library in Stevensville Montana, and occasionally works a substitute program host on Montana Public Radio.
A prayer chaplain at Unity Church of Missoula, Renee has been a student of Buddhism since 1997. The term “gatha” is from the Sanskrit meaning “verse” or “hymn.” In Buddhist literature it is used to designate the versified portion of the sutras. Many contemporary Buddhists use gathas as reminders of the dharma, placing them strategically throughout their homes.
Through Gatha Graphics, Renee intends to unite her interests in literature, spirituality and creativity to help provide inspiration for others. The company was registered in the state of Montana in 2008. Renee lives in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley with her husband, two great kids and one special dog.
